General information

This program is for  who want to combine the formal learning of English and/or French through a CEA course, and then apply what they have learned  in a paid working environment.

The paid portion of Co-Op begins after the student has completed the required language course at The CEA. The duration of the work period is equal to the length of the language course,12 weeks or 24 weeks. The combination of study and paid work is a total of 24 weeks or 48 weeks.

In Toronto, students will receive an English assignment. The minimum language ability for the paid work should be advanced. Students will find it difficult to obtain a job if they have less than an advanced level of English.

In Montreal, Paid Co-Op students have the unique opportunity to undertake a bilingual assignment. Both languages are used in the workplace. Although the official language of the province of Quebec is French, Montreal is the centre of English business for the province. Students will find it difficult to obtain a job if they have less than a high intermediate level of French and /Or and intermediate English.
