The health care industry is one of the largest in the country and it shows no signs of stopping that expansion. This growth has generated an increased need for people who can help manage health related staff and has the ability to lead and manage change needed to operate a successful practice.
The Health Care Management (HCM) is aimed at decision makers in the public, private and not-for-profit sectors. The programme provides relevant management training to those seeking more senior posts in primary and secondary health care.
The programme combines the study of health services management and general management. It also allows health professionals to obtain the necessary skills to manage health care services in rapidly changing and increasingly business-like environments.
Furthermore, it is to be reckoned that management is an inter-disciplinary affair and the subjects taught must never be treated as compartmentalized. There is a great need that the students develop the capability as to how to integrate the subjects taught in the classrooms to solve any Health and Social Care management problem.
Upon graduation you will have completed all educational requirements and can make application to NCFE to attend the exams required to receive a Certification of Health Care Management from the NCFE Association. You will also have met all the educational requirements for the NCFE’s professional designation - Certified Heath Care .
